Grandfather Mountain
Grandfather Mountain stands tall at 5,946 feet above sea level, and is famous for it’s biodiversity and breathtaking views. The State Park entrance is just over 25 miles from Three Peaks where you will find hiking trails, educational programs, special events and much more – all located along the 2-mile entrance road to the summit.

- The Park is open 7-days a week, year round (closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving Day). Seasonal hours can be found on the Grandfather Mountain website.
- Tickets range from $9-$25 and must be booked online in advance.
- Pets are permitted inside the park on a leash. They are not allowed inside the buildings, due to health regulations, or in the Animal Habitats area.
- Because of its elevation, Grandfather Mountain can be chilly, even in summer. Dressing in layers is strongly recommended.
