Trout Fishing
The Toe River is a popular destination for trout fishing. It features fast tumbling sections with shoals and plunge pools, as well as slower, deeper sections. Within these waters, you can find both wild and stocked brook, brown, and rainbow trout, ranging from small fingerlings to browns measuring over 20 inches.

Fishing License
- Individuals 16 years of age or older using any type of bait or gear to catch finfish while fishing in North Carolina’s public waters must possess a valid North Carolina fishing license. This license requirement does not apply to private ponds.
