Chimney Rock / Lake Lure

The area of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock in North Carolina is nestled at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It offers stunning scenic views, rushing rivers, and a variety of outdoor adventure activities.


Chimney Rock State Park

  • Open 8:30-5:30 March 10 – November 2 and closes at 4:30 during the off-season.
  • Admission is $17/adult and $8 for kids age 5-15.
  • Rock climbing guides can be booked though Fox Mountain Guides.
  • RVs up to 40 ft. overall length can navigate the roadway into the Park. 
  • Sky Lounge Deli and a gift shop is located at the top of Chimney Rock.
  • For the average adult, it takes about 25 minutes to walk up the 499-step Outcroppings trail to reach the Chimney.
  • Hike to Hickory Nut Falls, the 404-foot waterfall inside the Park.

  • Chimney Rock Village is just outside the Park’s entrance and has an eclectic array of shops and eateries.
