Julian Price Memorial Park

Julian Price Memorial Park is a wonderful place for rest and play right off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Enjoy the beautiful 47-acre Price Lake, which is the highlight of the park. It has one of the largest and most popular picnic areas on the Parkway. Visitors can enjoy camping, boating, and fishing on Price Lake, as well as explore the nearby mountains on hiking trails.

Hiking Trails

  • Easy
    • Price Lake Trail: 2.7 mile loop around the lake
  • Moderate
    • Green Knob Trail: 2.3 mile loop diverse in scenery
    • The Mountains-to-Sea Trail runs jointly with the Boone Fork Trail for half its length
  • Strenous
    • Tanawha Trail: 13.5 mile trail that meanders through field and forest in Price Park and parallels the Parkway on the flanks of Grandfather Mountain, ending at Beacon Heights (milepost 305.5)

Moses Cone Manor

  • Stop by the visitor center at Moses Cone Memorial Park which is 3 miles north from Price Lake along the parkway
  • Tour the manor and learn more about the Cone family and the estate that they built in the mountains
  • 25 miles of gently sloping carriage roads in Cone Park offer many opportunities for leisurely hiking
